Availability

Applicable to large commercial and industrial services located within the Association's certified service area.  Service is available under this rate schedule for loads with actual metered demand of 1,000 kW or higher, loads requiring a committed capacity of 1,000 kW or higher, or loads requiring a transformer of 1,000 kVA or larger.  This rate is not available for resale energy.  Subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Association.  Service is also available under this rate schedule to any of these loads if on-site generation normally servicing part of the consumer's load is present but smaller than the generator reservation threshold required in Rate Schedule 61 to be served under the terms of Standby Service.  Laods with connected generation in excess of the threshold for Standby Service must be served under Rate Schedule 61.  Any load served under this rate schedule where the connected generator produces in excess of the Standby Service threshold will automatically be transferred to Rate Schedule 61.  This limitation does not apply to lods with standby generators equipped with a double-throw switch which cannot make parallel with the Association's electric system and which do not normally serve part of the consumer's load.

Type of Service

Service can be provided at transmission, distribution substation and distribution primary and secondary voltages. Frequency and voltage shall be subject to reasonable variation.  Where service of the type desired by the consumer is not already available at the point of delivery, additional charges may be established in accordance with the Cooperative's line Extension Policy or by special contract between the consumer and the Cooperative.

Minimum Monthly Charge

The minimum monthly charge shall be the highest of the following:

  1. The service charge and the peak billing demand charge (BD)
  2. The charge identified in the contract for service

Determination of Maximum Demand

The consumer's maximum shall be the maximum rate at which energy is used for any period of thirty consecutive minutes of the month for which the bill is rendered as shown by the Association's Meter in kW.

Determination of Peak Billing Demand (BD)

The Billing Demand shall be the greater of the following:

  1. The Maximum Demand as determined above, corrected for power factor, as set forth under the Power Factor Clause,
  2. 1000 kW
  3. The contract peak demand specified in the Agreement for Electric Service

Determination of Demand at Association's Monthly Peak

The consumer's demand at Association's monthly peak shall be the rate at which energy is used during the 30 minute period of the month at the Association's total system demand was at its maximum value within supplier's peak load period as determined by the Association's wholesale supplier in kW.

Determination of Billing Demand at Association's Monthly Peak (AD)

The consumer's billing demand at Association's monthly peak shall be the demand at Association's monthly peak within supplier's monthly peak period, corrected for power factor as set forth in the power factor clause below.  The peak period is from 12:00PM (noon) through 10:00PM (the billing 1/2 hour period ending 12:30PM through the billing 1/2 hour period ending at 10:00PM) daily, Monday through Saturday with the exception of the following six (6) holidays if occurring on Monday through Saturday: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independance Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Power Factor Clause

The consumer agrees to maintain unity power factor as nearly as practicable.  The measured demand for both AD and BD may be increased to obtain billing demand, when the Association deems necessary, by increasing the measured demand, 1% for each 1% by which the power factor is less than 95% lagging at the time the AD and BD are established.

Terms of Payment

In the event the current monthly bill is not paid within twenty (20) days from the billing date, it will be delinquent.  At that time, each account with a delinquent balance will be assessed a $10.00 late charge.  Bills that remain delinquent at the start of the next billing cycle will be assessed an interest charge of 1% of the amount unpaid at that time and may also be subject to disconnection for non-payment.  However, disconnection for non-payment shall not relieve the consumer of responsibility for the payment of the bill and additional interest penalties shall be added at the beginning of each subsequent billing cycle at the rate of 1% per month.

Service Conditions

Consumers are required to pay a one-time non-refundable charge for the installation of an automatic recording-type meter or meters which allows for time differentiation and which will satisfy the Association's metering requirements.
