2027 Scholarship Application Deadline - Thursday, January 28, 2027

Y-W Electric Association, Inc., has several scholarships available to the dependents of our membership. If you receive electric power from Y-W Electric either for a home or farm/business location, then your dependents are eligible to apply for the following scholarships:

  1. Y-W Electric* $2,000/year Scholarships, renewable up to $8,000
  2. Y-W Electric* $2,000 Scholarships
  3. Basin Electric $1,000 Scholarships
  4. Y-W Electric $500 Scholarships
  5. Y-W Electric*  $500 Continuing Education Scholarship
  6. Tri-State G & T $500 Scholarships
  7. Y-W Electric* $2,000 Line Technician Training Scholarship 

* Y-W Electric Scholarships are funded by Unclaimed Capital Credits

At the discretion of the Scholarship Committee, additional scholarships may be awarded.

If you receive this information and are not eligible under Y-W Electric’s criteria, check with your electric power supplier. You may be eligible under their criteria for some of the same scholarships within their service territory.

Qualification Requirements

  1. Your parents or guardians must receive electric service from Y-W Electric
  2. You must be a graduating student from a local high school or approved home schooling program or be a continuing college student
  3. You must maintain full time resident student status
  4. Semesters must be continuous excluding summer
  5. You must provide Copy of Grade Transcript to Y-W at the end of each semester to receive renewable funding for specific scholarships
  6. You must maintain minimum GPA requirements
