Y-W Electric Association, Inc is experiencing copper theft in our substations. We are asking for the public to please report any suspicious behavior around any electrical equipment. Only authorized personnel are to be present in any of our electrical facilities. Our personnel or other authorized personnel would be in a vehicle with a power company logo on the side and not look to be out of place. The act of copper theft is a crime and carries great danger, not only to the party stealing, but also to utility personnel and the public. Protective grounds are installed to protect utility workers and the public from hazardous and potentially fatal electric current.

Please help us keep the grid safe and operational.

If you witness suspicious acts, please call 911 to report the activity so the proper authorities can respond. We are working with Yuma and Washington County Sheriff’s Departments.
